Getting into a Multilevel marketing business opportunity at the very beginning is really exciting. There's hardly anyone signed up and everyone will be going under you. Man, can you believe your luck. They'll tell you things like "What if you were there day one when one of the big name MLM's started.
There's something they won't tell you though, 99.9% of new start ups fail within the first two years. So now where are you. A big downline that is looking at you as the one that screwed them all.
You need to find a company that is just breaching the 2 to 5 year hurdle. At that point they have proven themselves as a company that is here to stay. Remember, you want to be able to retire someday and have them pay you forever. If they fold you won't get paid, don't put yourself in that position.
A last point to make is a point about technology opportunities. Stay away from them. I know this sounds like a strange blanket statement, but technology moves too fast. The minute another company makes it better and/or cheaper, your company is screwed. Ask any technology company how much they spend on R&D to keep up. If your company has to spend that kind of money what do you think that will do to the compensation plan?
